Who makes the world’s guns? If you think about it, guns and projectile weapons have not changed that much or improved that dramatically over the last century. They still fire bullets which contain gunpowder within a metal shell and generally have quite traditional methods of firing said bullets. I’ll now mention a rifle that… never made it into mass production but was years ahead of gun design at the time. The Heckler and Koch G11. I haven’t found a gun that has impressed me more than this weapon. I’m not a gun aficionado by any means, but admire the engineering skill and ingenuity in developing such a radically different weapon. And just listen to it. Phwoar! Here is some more info on it. Just to prove how cool and futuristic this gun is/was, have a watch of this clip (2:57) from Demolition Man when Simon Phoenix (Wesley Snipes) helps himself to the “phaser gun” when raiding the Armory Museum. Wicked!
